In an effort to increase student knowledge about business, a group on campus will host a well-known CEO.
The Finance Society will welcome Mike Cahill to campus today.
Cahill has more than 20 years of senior financial management experience, and is CEO and president of Tower Bank, located in Fort Wayne, Ind.
“It’s a big deal for us as an organization, especially bringing someone as well as known as Mr. Cahill is to Ball State,” said Dylan Bolden, treasurer for The Finance Society.
During his visit, Cahill will discuss the role of banking in society and CEO expectations when hiring.
“Students have a lot of questions about what goes on when people are hiring and entering the career field after college,” Bolden said. “[Cahill] will be giving an outlook on that from a management perspective.”
Dan Boylan, finance instructor, said Cahill is personable as well as powerful.
“He is very student friendly. He can crack jokes and talk about the real world without being complex and technical,” Boylan said. “And we thought that someone being really powerful and can speak on every level would be kind of neat.”
The event is free and is from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Whitinger Business Building Room 144.
