Excise arrest 16 at BSU

Indiana State Excise Police continued the crackdown on underage drinking Friday night with 16 arrests at Ball State.

Officer Travis Thickstun said in a press release that 16 people were arrested on 25 charges, including illegal transportation of alcohol. Several traffic citations were issued.

Besides those arrested for underage drinking, two adults were arrested for furnishing alcohol to minors.

Cody A. Fellers, 20, of Lewisville, Ind., was jailed on five preliminary charges. He also was wanted by Monroe County for illegal possession of alcohol in April in Bloomington, Ind. He will face the charges in Delaware County first.

The crackdown is part of the Intensified College Enforcement program that began in February 2012. The program has a focus primarily on alcohol, tobacco and related laws.
