Museum of Art releases secondary education tool

With the further education of high school students in mind, the David Owsley Museum of Art located at Ball State has released an online learning packet featuring images of objects found in the museum’s collection.

The Art and Culture of Latin America was developed by museum staff members and evaluated by teachers in the community as an aid in art, language arts, Spanish and social studies education. It was created to meet Indiana and national education standards.

According to teaching instructions inside the packet, it is to be used to supplement the school’s core curriculum.

Students learn visually with associating museum collection pictures with Central American maps indicating where they were created, along with assignment activities to accompany them.
