Ball State ran against some of the stiffest competition in the country at the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday, finishing 30 of 31 teams, only beating host Louisville.
Ball State scored a total of 870 points in the meet.
Senior MaryKate Mellen had another strong performance, clocking in with a time of 18:21.11, just five seconds behind her personal best set two weeks ago.
Senior Emilee Zets broke her previous mark and set a new personal best by finishing with 19:26.54.
Katelyn DeVries continues to be a strong runner for the Cardinals. Just a freshman, she had Ball State's second best time with 18:53.01, her second best time of the season.
Sisters Courtney and Caitlynn Edon finished with times of 19:15.69 and 19.58.72, respectively.
Freshman Kelly Swift also finished for Ball State, closing at 20:32.67.
Arizona won the meet with an average time of 17:07.63, followed by Washington with 17:09.32 and Michigan State with 17:20.45. Ball State was the only MAC school at the event.
The Cardinals have a quick turnaround and will run next at their only home meet of the season Friday at the Ball State Invitational.
