UPB to host laser tag event Wednesday

09/26/12 4:18 p.m.

The chance to compete against other students in laser tag for the highest score is the latest University Program Board event tonight.

UPB is putting on the 'Laser Wars' event from 7-9 p.m. in the Art Museum Ballroom, AR 217.
Only 10 people at a time can compete on the course.

The event was supposed to be outside on the quad but due to the possibility of inclement weather this evening, its location has been moved.

"The dark might have been a little bit more fun for glow in the dark," Danielle Ketner, a program director with UPB, said. "It sort of ruins the element of surprise because you can't hide as well."

Students will have to sign-up prior as an individual or in a group to participate and sign a waiver as well. Equipment will be provided, along with free Gatorade.

The event is free and $1 for guests.

Ketner hopes people will have a good time tonight while taking a break from studying.

"I know last week a lot of my friends said was sort of like their hell week," she said. "They had a bunch of tests or a bunch of stuff to do. It's a way to sort of forget about that for a little bit and have fun shooting your friends."
