Not everyone can afford the $200-plus Bonnaroo ticket, the $95 ticket for one day at Lollapalooza or even the $30 ticket for a concert at the Klipsch Music Center (formerly known as the Verizon Wireless Music Center). For those still in Muncie for the summer and looking to save some cash, look no further than your own backyard.
Several local venues will host their own live music throughout the next three months. And just because there are fewer students on campus doesn't mean these locations are slowing down. Be Here Now owner Whitney Lewis said he loves being a part of many students' first Muncie summers.
"We have become an 'underground railroad' of sorts for touring bands and strive to be a place in which you can always expect to see some artist sharing their talents on any given night," Lewis said. "Nothing changes for the summer and the better weather just means more people out trying to find something to experience."
Bands may be subject to change and dates are likely to be added, but here are some of the highlights of live music to look forward to this summer.
