Parking lots closed to set up for Late Nite Carnival

Popcorn and bumper cars are replacing some of campus' commuter parking this weekend.

Parking Services announced in a campus-wide email Wednesday morning that the C1 Commuter Parking Lot closed Tuesday night and will not reopen until Sunday.

The closure is due to University Program Board's Late Nite Carnival, an annual event that is set to feature 16 carnival rides, snacks, games and live performances. The carnival will start at 7 p.m. Friday in the C1 lot, which is located on the north side of campus near the duck pond and Worthen Arena.

To compensate for the closure, commuters are able to leave their cars in the Student Center parking garage and on the top level of the McKinley garage.

Students are encouraged to give themselves extra time to find a parking space.
