Severe weather to possibly bring hail, tornadoes

The Ball State area has a moderate risk for severe thunderstorms that could bring lightning, strong winds, large hail and tornadoes, according to the National Weather Service.

Large hail and tornado weather is expected to only last between 1-7 p.m. Strong winds are expected to continue until 10 p.m.

A public safety notice was sent to students at 8:58 a.m. to ask students to review Ball State's response guidelines for storms.

The notice also reminds students that emergency notification system on campus isn't used for severe weather and tornadoes because of the short time span.
