MUNCIE, Ind. — Central Indiana police have arrested two people in connection with the killing of a woman whose body was found on fire near a nature preserve.
The Star Press reported that Muncie police on Saturday arrested 24-year-old Terry Donald Rutledge on preliminary charges of murder, assisting a criminal and obstruction of justice. Regina N. Miller, 36, faces a preliminary charge of assisting a criminal in the killing.
Motorists spotted the woman's burning body on Saturday morning across from the Craddock Wetlands Nature Preserve in Muncie. The victim was partially clothed and had apparently been wrapped in a covering that was set ablaze.
Muncie police Capt. Mark Vollmar said investigators believe they know the woman's identity, but likely won't be able to confirm that until after an autopsy scheduled for Monday.
