Welcome to the start of the eleventh week of classes. At this point, over half way through the fall semester, the struggle to stay focused and motivated in classes gets a little harder, and in the flurry of lectures, tests, papers, and group projects, a balanced schedule can seem impossible. Try to find time this month to relax and intentionally take a break.
During that time, you can rest easy knowing that the Student Government is working to help improve your experience at Ball State. This month we provided a free breakfast to students during the "Start Your Day with SGA" event. It was just one more way of showing students that they are the very heart of the Student Government Association and that we exist to serve their best interests. What goes hand and hand with this philosophy, however, is a huge need for student input.
Every week the Student Senators of the SGA reach out to their constituents (you, the students) to find out how they can better serve you, but there are multiple ways that you can also reach out to us and take advantage of the many resources that the SGA has to offer. These resources, such as money for your organization from Co-Sponsorship or funding to gain leadership skills through our Leadership Fund, exist so that you can care more about bettering your time at Ball State and lessening your worry of how to do it. The best way to take advantage of these resources is simply by staying connected.
Here's how you can stay connected with YOUR SGA:
1. Like us on Facebook.
2. Follow us on Twitter.
3. Attend the weekly Senate meetings on Wednesday at 3:15 in the Student Center.
4. Check out our new website: sga.iweb.bsu.edu
5. Stop by the office in SC 112 anytime during normal business hours and get to know us better!
Enjoy the next few weeks. Thanksgiving Break will be here before you know it.
We can't wait to hear from you!
