A former crisis communications Eli Lilly employee introduced herself at a forum this morning as Ball State's new executive director of public relations.
Students as well as faculty had the opportunity to get to know Joan Todd, executive director for public relations.
She spoke about media and public relations at Ball State to introduce herself to the community.
"It's basically a meet and greet," Todd said. "I'm new to campus, so [the forum] is for the community to get to know me and figure out a little bit about why I'm here."
Todd said she her impressions of Ball State have been good.
"I'm very excited about what Ball State has been doing and the direction it has been going," she said. "I'm impressed with what has been done to date to raise awareness about Ball State's unique programs."
Todd hopes to raise more awareness about Ball State's mission. The immersive learning, student centered curriculum, and attitude at Ball State are all aspects of the university she hopes to showcase.
"[This year] I'd like to raise Ball States profile even more in Indiana as well as nationally, because the university deserves it," she said. "There's a lot of good stuff going on here."
