Lawmaker disputes story amid call for resignation

INDIANAPOLIS — An Indiana lawmaker said he was robbed by an 18-year-old man after the two allegedly met for a sexual rendezvous.

Republican Rep. Phil Hinkle of Indianapolis called his Aug. 6 meeting with Kameryn Gibson "stupid," but denied any wrongdoing in an interview Tuesday.

Gibson told The Indianapolis Star that Hinkle exposed himself when they met and then tried to buy his silence by offering him his iPad, Blackberry and $100.

Hinkle did not deny promising to pay Gibson up to $140 for a "really good time," but said Gibson robbed him. He said he did not file a police report on the advice of his lawyer.

House Speaker Brian Bosma called for Hinkle to resign Tuesday. He said Hinkle's become a "distraction" and a "detriment" to the General Assembly.
