SOCCER: Cardinals add recruit from Czech Republic

Recruit becomes first recruit from Czech Republic in school history

Ball State soccer head coach Craig Roberts announced the signing of Pavla Benýrová Tuesday to a national letter of intent.

Benýrová became the 10th member of Roberts first full recruiting class and will play for the Cardinals during the 2011 season.

Benýrová joins Ball State after playing for the Czech Republic National Team for the past three seasons. She is the first recruit from the Czech Republic in school history.

In addition, she has played club soccer for the past nine years for SK Slavia Prague and played for the Czech Republic U-19 team from 2005-2007.

In 2006, Benýrová made her first national team appearance during the U-19 Championship qualifying round.

Benýrová joins a recruiting class that includes 2011 Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year Hannah Chadick, Ellie Chadick, Cailey Starck and Victoria Jacobs.
