WOMEN'S TENNIS: Ball State looks to escape losing streak

Cardinals face chance to win first MAC game of the season

It is never a good feeling to start the season on a losing streak.

The women's tennis team is currently in a rut, losing seven of its last eight matches. The losses have pushed the Cardinals' overall record to a dismal 6-11 record.

The Cardinals will try to dig themselves out from losing as they face Northern Illinois Huskies in Dekalb, Ill.

The Cardinals are sitting at 0-3 in Mid American Conference play. All three of the losses have come during the recent rough stretch of play.

The Cardinals have struggled at simply winning matches recently. During their recent streak of losses dating back to the beginning of March, the Cardinals have won only four points and have been swept two times.

Ball State hopes to finish the regular season with a positive conference record by beating Northern Illinois, one of four remaining conference matches. Its other three conference matches include Miami (OH) Buffalo and Akron.

After competing with Northern Illinois, the Cardinals will travel to Cincinnati to take on the Bearcats on April 15. Cincinnati is the only remaining non-conference game on Ball State's schedule.
