TRACK AND FIELD: Janae Taylor leads Ball State at Mike Poehlein Invitational

Cardinals finish meet with 11 top ten finishes

Ball State leaves the Mike Poehlein Invitational with 11 top ten finishes this weekend.

Janae Taylor was the Cardinal's top performer with four top ten finishes. Taylor was part of the 4x100 relay team that placed third and also part of the 4x400 team that placed sixth. Individually she walked away with a second place finish in the 100-meter dash and a seventh place finish in the 200-meter dash.

Judah Smith also joined Taylor on the 4x400 relay team. In the 400-meter dash Smith placed seventh and in the 200-meter dash she placed eighth.

Competing in high jump, Rebecca Lomax placed second. Lomax also was part of the third place 4x100 relay. Her third win would come in the 100-meter dash placing sixth.

The third place 4x100 relay team also consisted of Ra'Jae Marable and Thekla Lorenz. Lorenz was also on the sixth place 4x400 relay team accompanied by Hannah Lange, Taylor and Smith.

In the 800-meter run Christine Talhelm placed sixth for Ball State.

In the throwing events Ball State had two top ten finishes. Mellssa Dodaro placed seventh in the discus throw for her team. In triple jump Alyssa Hurburt placed tenth.

Next weekend the cardinal's compete at the Miami Invitational at Miami of Ohio University.
