SOFTBALL: MAC play comes home for Cardinals

Ball State faces Buffalo and Kent State in weekend games

In its first conference home games against Kent State and Buffalo this weekend, Ball State looks to continue its offensive prowess.

Ball State is hitting .319 on the season and averages just over five runs per game.

One team that can give Ball State problems this weekend is Kent State.

As a team, Kent State is hitting .294 and scoring just under six runs per game.

Buffalo, however, has had its problems with hitting and scoring runs, which should bode well for Ball State.

The Bulls are hitting .247 as a team and average under three runs per game.

Coach Craig Nicholson said despite Ball State's struggles with Indiana, they should be fine this weekend.

"We are definitely going to be back to our usual offense this weekend," Nicholson said. "We're not going to see the same level of pitcher we saw against Indiana."

Ball State begins its home stand today in a doubleheader against Kent State. First pitch is at 1 p.m.
