McKinley Mile canceled for this year

The annual bike race that usually brings hundreds of people to line the main street of campus has been canceled due to weather.

The office of Student Life and University Program Board made the decision to cancel McKinley Mile this morning.

The weather was something the organizations had been concerned about, Brett Watson, program coordinator for the Office of Student Life said in an earlier issue of the Daily News.

"Just because of how late in the year we're already at and how long it takes to process the road closure forms, we wouldn't be able to have a rain date," Watson said. "We'd have to cancel it for the year."

Showers and thunderstorms are likely to continue until 2 p.m. today, according to the National Weather Service.
