INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Police across Indiana will work overtime next month to crack down on drunken, impaired and dangerous driving.
State police and more than 250 other agencies will take part in the Operation Pull Over crackdown that runs Friday through March 20.
Police taking part in the federally-funded project will mount increased patrols looking for drunken and aggressive drivers and motorists without seatbelts.
State police said there were 41 deaths on Indiana highways in March 2009, and 24 percent involved a driver who was legally drunk.
