Ind. college promotion group offers cash contests

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — A group urging Indiana students to complete college has started new scholarship contests for students as young as 5.

The contest is one part of Learn More Indiana's Cash for College campaign.

Learn More Indiana will give a $10,000 scholarship to the student who wins a contest to design a mobile phone application that would allow users to calculate and compare college costs. High school students can win $5,000 in a contest to create a creative student-led campaign promoting college financial aid opportunities, and students who attend a college information meeting can enter to win $1,000.

Even young students can enter to win a $529 essay and poster contest that awards money to K-8 students who encourage Indiana students and families to save for college. Information is online: cashforcollegeindiana.org/
