The group has won multiple Grammy awards, plays regularly at the New York City jazz "mecca," the Village Vanguard, and now it is making its way to the Pruis Hall stage.
What began as a three-night gig has developed into a 45-year legacy for the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, a 16-piece group that still has several original members.
After seeing the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra twice in New York, Robert Myers, director of John R. Emens Auditorium, said the group stayed on his radar for several years as a potential group to bring to campus.
