TRACK AND FIELD: Ball State fares well at the Gladstein Invitational

Cardinals' 4X400 relay team takes seventh place

The Ball State track and field team tallied three fourth place finishes as well as 11 top 10 finishes this weekend in the Gladstein Invitational at Indiana University.

Judah Smith, competing in the 400-meter dash, placed sixth (57.87). She also competed in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.12 placing twelfth.

Janae Taylor competed in two events in the two-day meet. The first event she placed in was the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.75 taking seventh place. In the 60-meter dash she placed ninth (7.91).

Thekla Lorenz had a sixth and ninth place finish in the pentathlon and long jump.

Ali Bishel took seventh place in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:09.11.

MaryKate Mellen and Emilee Zets both competed in the one-mile run. Mellen took eighth in the invitational with a time of 5:12.73. Zets placed twelfth in the mile (5:28.53) and also placed eighth in the 600-meter run (1:40.93).

Ball State's 4x400 relay team finished strong with a seventh place win with a time of 3:57.33. The relay team consisted of Hannah Lange, Brandi Robinson, Thekla Lorenz and Judah Smith.

The Cardinals head to Marion, Ind. next Saturday to compete at Indiana Wesleyan.
