WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Police say an Indianapolis man was hospitalized in critical condition after being shot in the neck outside a nightclub near the Purdue University campus.
West Lafayette police Lt. Gary Sparger says officers heard gunshots in the parking lot of Nick's Nightclub soon after being called about 1:45 a.m. Sunday because of fights there. Sparger says 22-year-old Antwain Harrison was found wounded and was taken to an Indianapolis hospital.
No arrests were immediately made and police Lt. Troy Harris tells the Journal & Courier that officers got little cooperation from witnesses. Harris says a special event party being held at the nightclub had drawn a crowd mostly from Indianapolis.
Harris says at least 50 people were outside when the shooting happened and that it was amazing no one else was injured.
