Students have a new dining option, and they're taking notice.
Quiznos opened in the Student Recreation and Wellness Center this week.
The new restaurant offers toasted subs, healthy items, bottled beverages and a convenience store with snacks.
Sophomore criminal justice major Chris Lohss said he was looking forward to giving the new Quiznos a chance.
"I always try and vary on different days what I'm eating, find something new," he said.
There wasn't anywhere to sit Friday at 12:30 p.m., and there was a long line.
"[I'm] definitely excited for something new on campus, but the line seems to be super long," Lohss said.
Junior Troy Schieman said it's a nice change.
"I like Quiznos. It's a lot better than Subway," he said. "I was pretty excited it came in because it just adds another place to eat."
Schieman said he has mixed feelings about the location, though.
"Honestly, it's in the Rec Center and you're supposed to come here to work out, stay fit, burn carbs and stuff like that," he said, "but they have this nice tasty sub place right here, so it's kind of like a tempting ordeal that they put this in the Rec Center."
Freshman theater studies major Brittney Horth said she uses the Recreation Center sometimes. She's happy with the location and addition of Quiznos.
"It's nice for me because I'm at LaFollette [Complex], and I can just walk over whenever I want," she said. "I really like the dining options. It's like a ton of places I have at home."
Quiznos is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and is closed Saturday and Sunday.
