Muncie resident arrested for attacking two Ball State students

A Muncie resident was arrested early Saturday morning after allegedly attacking two Ball State students in the Village.

Wyman R. Beaty was preliminarily charged with public intoxication and battery.

Beaty said he left The Locker Room Grill and Pub when the people he was with got into a physical altercation with a "gay guy," according to the arrest report. Beaty claimed he was not involved with the physical assault, but he yelled at the victims that they "can't get any in Ball State."

According to the arrest report, Beaty said he consumed a lot of alcoholic beverages at the bar and that his comment was towards the subjects' supposed sexual preference.

The report said Beaty had bloodshot eyes, smelled of an alcoholic beverage, had unsteady balance, slurred speech and couldn't correctly identify where he lived.

The Ball State students said a group of males yelled at them and then three men jumped one of the victims and began kicking him in the head, the arrest report said. The report said after one of the attackers punched the other victim, the group fled. One of the students identified Beaty as one of the attackers.
