A social was held last night for faculty, staff and the top 10 student Homecoming candidates to spread hype for the quickly approaching Homecoming Week.
Faculty and staff were encouraged to have a relaxing evening and chat about next week's Homecoming activities.
The top 10 Homecoming king and queen candidates came to spread the cheer of Homecoming Week.
Brittney Williams, faculty and staff chairwoman, said the social was a great opportunity for everyone involved.
"The social gives faculty and staff a chance to mingle and get excited about Homecoming," Williams said. "It is great to spend time with professors on a personal level outside of the classroom."
The faculty and staff Homecoming king and queen will be announced Monday during the Opening Ceremony at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center. Student Homecoming king and queen will be announced at Air Jam on Oct. 7 in John R. Emens Auditorium.
Kalyn Long, royalty chairwoman, said the committee is ready for the coming week's events.
"All of the royalty candidates showed up for a great turnout," she said. "We really start going next week with opening day on Monday and events happening every night."
