The Urban Planning Department in the College of Architecture and Planning is hosting a showing of the film "Changing Gears" at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Architecture Building Room 100.
Ball State University's Center for Middletown Studies and the Institute for Digital Entertainment and Education (IDEE), in collaboration with Minnestrista Cultural Center, the Muncie Star Press, and members of Muncie Local UAW 287, released the film last week at AMC Showplace 12.
The efforts of a year and a half worth of labors, countless hours of student research, interview footage and months of editing combined in the release of the documentary, focused on the closing of the Muncie BorgWarner Automotive Transmission Plant in spring of 2009.
The showing will include moree information about the story of the city of Muncie and Middletown USA.
