Deadline looms to register to vote in Ind. primary

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana residents who want to vote in the May 4 primary face a Monday deadline to register.

Residents can register at a county voter registration office, county clerk's office or state Bureau of Motor Vehicles branch. Registration forms also can be printed out from www.indianavoters.com and mailed so long as they are postmarked on or before Monday.

Voters should update their existing registrations by Monday if they have moved or other information has changed to ensure they are eligible to vote in the primary.

Those uncertain of their status can call (866) IN-1-VOTE.

Registration for the fall general election begins May 18 and closes Oct. 4. The general election is Nov. 2.
