Cornerstone Center for the Arts announced Tuesday that current director of education Robby Tompkins will become the new interim president.
The announcement was made three weeks after Terry Whitt Bailey resigned to accept a position a position as president and CEO of the Madame Walker Theater Center in Indianapolis. Whitt Bailey will start working in her new position Monday.
Tompkins said despite the changes being made, "things will keep moving forward" for the downtown Muncie art center.
"Terry Whitt Bailey has been a fantastic leader to our organization and community and we at Cornerstone will miss her," he said.
Tomkpins said his plans are to continue all activities and events for the organization.
Whitt Bailey worked in Cornerstone Center for the Arts since 2004. She also worked at Ball State University as director of executive staff and administrative affairs, and as assistant professor.
Whitt Bailey earned a bachelors degree from Rutgers University and received her doctorate from Ball State University.
