Student Center rededication celebration today

The L.A. Pittenger Student Center is having a rededication celebration today in honor of the renovations.

Bruce Morgan, director of Student Center and Programs, said that the Student Center will offer free bowling and billiards all day.

Morgan said students may also enter a Texas Hold‘em tournament, a table tennis tournament, and play video games like Rock Band, Guitar Hero, Call of Duty and Halo 3 starting at 8 p.m. Free food and snacks will be served throughout the day, he said.

According to its Web site, the event will also feature the movie "It's Complicated" at 8 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room.

The Student Center is on campus to serve the students needs and to provide for them, Morgan said.

"We want to get students used to coming into the building," he said. "Especially the freshman class because they may not be used to coming here."

Morgan said he didn't know how many students will show up, but he hopes students will take advantage of the event.

"I think now with the renovations we have an excellent facility to showcase," he said. "We can now meet more of their needs and provide better service to students."
