Political inaction or ignorance helps no one.
College-age students are normally not targeted when politicians campaign, because the group doesn't always turn out in droves to the polls during non-presidential election years.

That doesn't leave a bunch of time to get your act together and submit materials to county offices. This includes updating information about new addresses or name changes.
Whether you register to vote in Delaware County or vote absentee in your home county or state, it's important for students to stay as involved as they were in 2008 for the presidential election. If our age group wants to be taken seriously, we have to prove that we care about issues all the time; not just when there are big names who need our votes to win.
After all, you deserve to be represented, whatever your views may be. That's what is so great about our country.

Some Muncie representatives, such as Republican U.S. Rep. Mike Pence, Democratic Rep. Dennis Tyler and Democratic Sen. Sue Errington, are up for re-election this year.
U.S. Sen. Evan Bayh's retirement from the Senate after his term ends this year also has led to increased interest in his formerly locked-up seat by the Republican that will run against the Democratic candidate yet-to-be-named. The primary, which decides who gets to run for that seat as the GOP candidate, is heating up quickly.
Additionally, a place to complete registration on campus would be fantastic. This would help busy students in figuring out the process.
Above all else, don't wait to register; get it done now. If you wait, you might regret it.
