Deadline approaching for Ind. primary voting

The deadline to apply for voter registration in the May 4 Indiana primary is coming soon.

Voters must submit registration forms to their county election offices by the April 5 deadline.

That includes new voters and those who have moved or changed their names.

Election officials say early voting also will begin April 5.

Republican and Democratic candidates for several federal, state and local offices will be decided in the primaries, along with numerous nonpartisan school board seats. U.S. Rep. Mike Pence (R), Rep. Dennis Tyler (D) and Sen. Sue Errington (D) — who represent the Muncie community — are among those seeking re-election this term.
