WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Ball State picks up crucial MAC win vs. Northern Illinois

McDonald hits six 3s, scores 26 points in victory

The Ball State University women's basketball team picked up a crucial Mid-American Conference West Division win tonight by defeating Northern Illinois University 66-60 at Worthen Arena.

Senior guard Audrey McDonald led the Cardinals (12-15, 6-8 MAC) with 26 points on 6-of-8 shooting from 3-point range.

Two other Ball State players scored double digits, as senior guard Danielle Gratton had 13 points and junior guard Shannon Klei added 11.

In all, the Cardinals converted 12-of-23 (52.2 percent) of their 3-point attempts on the night.

For the Huskies (10-16, 4-10 MAC), Ebony Ellis had a team-best 14 points, while sophomore guard Sarah Rogers had a double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds.

Ball State returns to action Saturday as it travels to MAC West-leading University of Toledo for a 4:30 tipoff. The Cardinals defeated the Rockets 73-69 Jan. 17 at Worthen Arena.
