Student Connection will meet its fate this afternoon as the Student Government Association representatives will either vote the slate into office or vote to begin the election process again.
To become the next student governing body, Student Connection will need two-thirds of the senate's vote.
SGA will allow Ball State students to ask questions during the forum at 3:15 p.m., before the voting procedure.
"They will talk about their platform and then the senators will be able to ask as many questions as they like," Elections Board Chairman Cory Schneider said.
The senators will be presented with the option of open or closed voting during the election process. If the senators choose a closed vote, each senator's vote on this issue will still be made public after the meeting.
"It looks extremely likely the senators are going to have the ability to motion for secret ballot," Schneider said.
SGA representatives are stressing the need for students to give their opinions on the slate during Wednesday's meeting.
"We are really stressing they can change what the slate does, based on their needs as students," Student Services Chairwoman Kayla Pickersgill said. "The slate needs these students to put their questions forward and hold them accountable."
Representatives are also asking that students speak with their SGA senators and voice any concerns on the slate.
The 2010 Elections Board selected the student senate majority vote over the electronic voting system used in years past when multiple slates ran. Student Connection would have to acquire only one vote electronically to take office. Through two-thirds majority, taking office becomes more complicated.
