Students living on campus next year can go online to sign up for housing.
Same room sign-ups for next year starts today, Cindy Miller, assistant director of Marketing, Communications and Technology of Housing and Residence Life, said.
Students with the Premium Plan and Standard housing contracts have until noon Thursday to sign up for their current rooms, she said.
'We're trying to make [room sign-ups] as convenient as possible,' Miller said. 'We know [students are] busy and we're trying to make it as easy as possible.'
Students with the Premium Plan contract can start signing up for rooms in different residence halls starting Monday at 6 a.m. and students who have the standard one-year contract will be eligible to sign up for different residence halls and renew their contracts Tuesday, she said.
Miller encourages students who are considering staying in their current room to request their current room. They can later sign up for a different residence hall if they change their minds later, she said.
Requesting the same room may be beneficial for students who wish to switch to one of the newer residence halls because of the possibility of ending up on a waiting list, she said.
Miller said online room sign-ups allows students to request rooms they want to live in and it makes placing students easier for Housing and Residence Life.
'We're glad we can offer [online sign-ups] to students and encourage them to use it,' Miller said. 'If [students are] uncomfortable to do it online, they can come into the [Housing and Residence Life] office and we can help them do a paper contract.'
Students have until Feb. 26 to sign up for housing at bsu.edu/housing.
