Rep. Mike Pence reiterated his decision not to run for a Senate election this year even after Sen. Evan Bayh announced he would retire after his term.
Pence's spokesman Matt Lloyd, said in a press release the congressman made a decision to seek re-election into the House of Representatives to lead a "conservative comeback in 2010."
"Mr. Pence's decision was made irrespective of polls or Sen. Bayh's intention to seek re-election," he said in the release. "Mr. Pence believes that Republicans will retake the House in 2010 and he counts it a privilege to be a part of the House Republican leadership during this historic election."
