At halftime, the Ball State University men's basketball team trails visiting Eastern Michigan University 36-33 in tonight's Mid-American Conference West Division matchup at Worthen Arena.
A win tonight for Ball State coupled with a Central Michigan loss tonight at Northern Illinois University would earn the Cardinals an outright MAC West title. If both Ball State and Central Michigan win, then the Cardinals' magic number is one for the title. That game is set to tipoff at 8 p.m. in DeKalb, Ill.
Leading the way for Ball State (15-11, 8-5 MAC) is sophomore center Jarrod Jones with a team-high nine points. Sophomore forward Mo Hubbard also has five points for the Cardinals.
For Eastern Michigan (14-13, 6-7 MAC), Antonio Green has a game-high 10 points.
The Cardinals are playing tonight's game without junior forward Malik Perry, who is nursing an injured hamstring. Perry had one of his best games of the season Ball State's 57-53 loss at Eastern Michigan on Jan. 23, scoring a team-high 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting.
