Ball State NAACP to have HIV awareness program

The NAACP Youth and College Chapter at Ball State University will have the InfraRED HIV Awareness Showcase tonight at Pruis Hall.

According to a press release, the program will also focus on the current state of the African-American community in relation to HIV/AIDS. The event will include information on HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections, prevention and education.

The NAACP is encouraging the audience to wear some form of red in honor of HIV/AIDS awareness.

The doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the program starts at 7 p.m. Admission is free or attendees can donate $1.

Donations will go to Damon House in Indianapolis to house patients suffering from HIV/AIDS and to the Red Cross for Haiti relief.

The event is cosponsored by Kappa Alpha Psi, Alpha Phi Alpha, Alpha Phi Omega, the Mixx and the Multicultural Center.
