The Ball State University Fashion Merchandising Association will dig into Cinderella's Closet for its annual charity event.
Cinderella's Closet is a dress drive for local girls interested in shopping for items for dances and other formal events.
Co-President of FMA Amy Dodge said the charity helps young girls purchase dress clothing at affordable prices.
"We are collecting donated dresses, shoes, accessories to re-sale for a budget price for local girls in the community to be able to attend their proms," Dodge said.
The organization will also accept donations such as jewelry, purses and shoes. Dodge said none of the items at the sale will cost more than $30 and there will be plenty of chances to win free items like restaurant or salon gift certificates.
Donations can be dropped off at the Atrium today and Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Big Brothers, Big Sisters, 220 N. Walnut St., Tuesday and Thursday from noon to 2 p.m. Students can also donate items for the charity at the Back in Black Fashion Show on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Pruis Hall.
The dress sale is Feb. 27 and March 20 in the Ball State Alumni Center.
The money raised from the event will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Delaware County.
Students who would like to make pick up arrangements, find other drop off locations on campus or who have questions about the event can contact Amy Dodge, Sam Christmon or Julie Sedwick at bsufmaccloset@gmail.com.
