Ball State swims today at North Central High School

After a more than two-and-a-half months' break from Mid-American Conference competition, the women's swimming and diving team fell at Eastern Michigan University Saturday, 155.5-133.5.

With the loss, the Cardinals fall to 6-5 on the season and 1-4 in the MAC.

Ball State did not win an event until the 10th of the 16-event meet. Sophomore Sara Hostetler tied for first in the 200-yard backstroke.

Hostetler then finished second to teammate Alanna Bader by .02 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly. Senior Lisa Maertin also scored a first place for the Cardinals in the 3-meter diving while finishing second in the 1-meter event.

Senior Emily Karwoski had the only other individual win for the Cardinals, finishing first in the 200-yard indvidual medley. The 400-yard freestyle relay of Nikki Saulters, Joan Cullen, Mallory Przybylinski and Katie Bylsma also finished the meet with a win for Ball State.

The Cardinals will not have much time to rest as they travel to North Central High School in Indianapolis today for a five-team dual meet hosted by Butler University. The meet starts at noon.
