TRACK: Cardinals capture eight wins at Indiana Wesleyan Invite

Sophomore nets three first places for Ball State

The Ball State University track team took eight first-place finishes Saturday afternoon at the Indiana Wesleyan University Invitational in Marion, Ind. Team points were not factored.

Leading the way for the Cardinals was sophomore Janae Taylor, who had three wins on the day. Taylor placed first in the 60-meter (7.77) and the 200-meter (25.64) dashes, while also anchoring the first-place 4x200 relay team of Erica Campbell, Sharise Logwood and Ra'Jae Marable (1:44.33).

Also placing first for Ball State was Renyae Owsley (400-meter dash), MaryKate Mellen (mile run), Katie Johnson (60-meter hurdles), Megan Cherry (triple jump) and the distance relay team of Brittany Ade, Judah Smith, Christine Talhelm and Vanessa Gilbert.

The Cardinals return to action Feb. 6 when they travel to the University of Notre Dame's Meyo Invitational.
