New music club to have call out meeting

The Acoustic Guitar Club is having a call out meeting at 7 p.m. in the David Letterman Media and Communication Building lobby.

Freshman art major Emma Wade began organizing the club last November, and it is now recognized by Ball State University.

Wade said the club is not exclusive to acoustic guitar players and she is in the process of changing the club's name. Students at all difficulty levels who are interested in playing an instrument or singing are welcome to join, she said.

"It's for people just starting out and who want to learn, or people who know how to play and want to learn more," Wade said.

She wanted to start a club for musicians so they could branch out the music scene in Muncie.

"Every time I go to an acoustic night, I hear people say ‘I need a piano or a base or some other instrument,'" she said. "We can all work together and teach each other new things."

A novice herself, Wade started playing guitar three years ago and said she was inspired by her dad, who also plays guitar.

Regular meetings for the Acoustic Guitar Club will be 7 p.m. on Wednesdays in Burkhardt Building Room 300.
