MCOB offers new master's degree

The H.H. Gregg Center for Professional Selling has added a new master's degree concentration in sales management.

Courses in sales management, sales technology and negotiation, and professional selling will be part of the concentration.

Inga Hill, assistant to the dean for student services at the Miller College of Business, said the center is expanding on the area of professional sales, first developing undergraduate and now graduate courses.

'We are building on the expertise that resides in the H.H. center,' she said. '[The center] has the specific skill that is needed to teach these courses.'

One of the new courses will be available during the summer, while the other course will be held in the fall. The courses will be open for distance education as well as on campus, Hill said.

'Students will be able to participate through Web conferences and interact with their sections,' she said. 'And the courses will be offered in the evening, so students can just go online and take part in the class.'

According to the graduate business program, Ball State University is the only school in Indiana to offer a graduate level concentration in professional selling and sales management.

There will be an information session for the program at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday where the program will be introduced and discussed. Students can go to the session at Burris Laboratory School or view the video stream.

To attend the session, students can register at the Ball State Web site.
