WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Maggert nabs MAC West Player of the Week honors

Junior forward scores career-high in win over Duquesne

The Mid-American Conference on Monday announced Ball State University forward Emily Maggert as the MAC West Division Player of the Week.

The weekly award is the third of the junior's career.

Maggert scored a career-high 25 points on Saturday in the Cardinals' 71-62 win on the road at Duquesne. She also notched her sixth double-double of the season and eighth career overall by grabbing 15 rebounds against the Dukes.

For the season, Maggert is averaging a double-double, leading the Cardinals in scoring (17.2 points per game) and rebounding (11.4 rebounds).

In the East Division, Ohio University senior guard Jenny Poff earned the weekly award. She led the Bobcats in games against UNC-Wilmington and Clemson, averaging 17 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.5 steals for the week.

Ball State (5-5) next plays at 7 p.m. tonight at the University of Evansville.
