Two Ball State University soccer players have earned postseason honors for the 2009 season. Senior midfielder Megan Ridley was named Second Team All-Mid-American Conference and freshman goalkeeper Nicole Wood was named to the MAC All-Freshman team.
Ridley becomes the fifth player in Ball State history to be named to an All-MAC team twice. Last season, the tri-captain was named First Team All-MAC.
"Megan had a stellar career at Ball State," coach Michael Lovett said in a press release. "It is only fitting that she was recognized this year to cap her career as she helped us so much offensively."
Ridley led the Cardinals this season with 13 points, five goals and three assists. In four years at Ball State, she scored 30 points which ranks her ninth all-time in school history. Her 11 career goals ranks seventh all-time in Ball State history.
Wood becomes the seventh freshman all-time at Ball State to be earn MAC All-Freshman honors. She recorded 14 starts and 1,205 minutes at goalkeeper for the Cardinals this season. Wood finished second in the MAC with 87 saves; third most for a single season in school history.
