En route to his third touchdown pass of the game, Dan LeFevour became the Mid-American Conference's all-time passing leader.
Central Michigan University extended their lead at Ball State to 28-3 after three quarters. LeFevour broke Byron Leftwich's seven-year old record with a 13-yard pass to Antonio Brown.
Ball State reached the red zone early in the quarter, but was unable to convert on fourth-and-two. Eric Williams and Cory Sykes fumbled the handoff from the wildcat formation and the Chippewas took over on downs.
LeFevour added another touchdown pass with 2:07 left in the quarter, an 11-yard pass to tight end David Blackburn. It was the sophomore's second touchdown of the quarter and his career.
