FOOTBALL: Central Michigan takes an early lead at Ball State

Cardinals trail 7-0 after first quarter

Dan LeFevour took Central Michigan University 51 yards down the field for a touchdown on its opening drive Wednesday night against Ball State University.

After the first quarter the Chippewas hold a 7-0 lead.

Ball State struggled offensively, gaining 23 yards in the quarter. Quarterback Tanner Justice also fumbled on a trick play, but LeFevour countered with a fumble of his own two plays later.

Justice has 19 passing yards to start the game.
