Departmental talent show tonight

Ball State University students in the College of Architecture and Planning are getting out of the studio today.

The college is hosting a talent show at 5 p.m. in Architecture Building Room 100.

The show is called "CAPs Got Talent" and will include 15 acts with about 20 student performers.

"[It's something] that they don't really get to do during studio time," said event organizer and architecture major Branden Clements.

Clements said the talent show will feature mostly musical acts, along with a bagpipes performer, a techno mixer and a few dance routines. Five total awards will be given out, including best musical solo, best musical group and crowd favorite, he said.

The event is free and open to the public.

Sponsors include the student chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architecture, the Student Planning Association, the Associated Schools of Landscape, Associated Students of Historic Preservation, the National Organization of Minority Architecture Students and the American Institute of Architecture Students.
