Stock up
Cory Sykes
The sophomore running back again led Ball State in rushing last week. His quick speed was too much for Northern Illinois to handle, and he ran for 75 yards on 11 attempts. That was after he touched the ball only four times against Ohio.
Brandon Crawford
The week before Senior Night, the 33-year-old turned in his best game of the season. Crawford had five tackles at Northern Illinois, a season high.
Tanner Justice
The quarterback has continued to show improvements in each game since taking over for the injured Kelly Page. At Northern Illinois, Justice was 11-of-19 for 134 yards and a touchdown.
Stock down
Tori Gibson
The absence of a vertical passing game hasn't been Gibson's fault; it just isn't one of Justice's strengths. But since catching a touchdown and having 110 receiving yards at Temple, Gibson has only three catches for 37 yards.
Cody Muhlenkamp
Ball State's long snapper had a false start last week on what turned out to be a fake field goal attempt. Coach Stan Parrish essentially said there was no infraction on the play, but the mistake potentially cost the Cardinals a touchdown.
The NCAA
Ball State will not honor seniors Madaris Grant and MiQuale Lewis on Senior Night, because they applied for medical redshirts that the NCAA has not ruled on yet. If they are denied, two of the Cardinals' leaders will not be recognized at the end of their careers.
