The women's golf team finished the Penn State Nittany Lion Invitational in seventh place on Sunday.
Rollins College and Penn State University played well enough to finish the tournament in the top two spots out of 16 teams. Rollins tallied a 909 (+45) while Ball State tallied a 936 (+72).
"Many of the teams didn't play well and the two that did passed us and won." coach Katherine Mowat said.
Junior Brittany Kelly individually finished in 8th place, carding a 225 (+9) while teammate junior Rachael Pruett tied for 33rd with a score of 237 (+21). Sophomore Katie Windlan and senior Kirsty O'Connor both tied for 42nd carding a 240 (+24) and sophomore Kristtini Cain tied for 52nd carding a 242 (+26) at the invitational.
Running at a fast pace and moving from tournament to tournament, the team is trying to digest what is happening around them.
"We need to do more to compete for next week's tournament. We'll definitely get out on the field and put in more practice." Mowat said.
The team is looking forward to the MAC Tournament Preview which is being hosted by Toledo on Oct. 12 and 13 in Fishers, Ind.
