FOOTBALL: Cardinals take two-point lead into fourth quarter

For the second week in a row, Ball State University took advantage of a muffed fumble and takes a 16-14 lead into the fourth quarter.

The University of Toledo was unable to get out of the way of a punt in the third quarter and safety Kyle Kuntz came up with the ball. The play was similar to a play at Auburn University last week when Kuntz again recovered a muffed punt.

Ball State drove the ball inside the 10-yard line, but was unable to punch it in, settling for a 25-yard field goal by Ian McGarvey.

The Cardinals defense was able to contain the Rockets throughout the quarter. Toledo snapped a streak of six consecutive quarters with a score.
